Colour expresses my joy and my anger at everything that makes up society.
Franco Ndiba (Ngoh Zick Ndiba Francis, b. 1983, Douala, Cameroon) is a Cameroonian painter working in acrylic on canvas, among the emerging voices of the Douala art scene. Passionate about drawing and colour from an early age, he trained in the graphic studio of Nga Daybor, learning screen printing, painting and the fundamentals of drawing, and later assisted the artist Ajarb Bernard Ategwa. His vividly coloured compositions use everyday life as a medium to speak of society and the environment, of the elements that animate daily existence and shape it for better or worse. He has exhibited in London, Milan, Douala and Yaoundé, showing with Federicoruiarte Contemporanea, Milan, and Annie Kadji Gallery, Douala, and has taken part in 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair (2021, 2022). He lives and works in Douala.
