"My work is influenced by my fascination with the built space and architecture."

Patrick Akpojotor is a Nigerian multidisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture, based in Lagos. Trained at the School of Art and Industrial Design, Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, and at Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, he also received informal training as a studio assistant to Bruce Onobrakpeya. In his work, bodies and buildings share a single visual grammar: figures constructed from planes and geometric fragments occupy imagined spaces, questioning how built environments shape identity and perception. Winner of the inaugural Access Bank ART X Prize in 2016, he has exhibited in Lagos, Los Angeles and New York.
